JEE Advanced 2024:

Eligibility & Qualification:

  • Secure a position among the top 2,50,000 scorers in JEE Main 2024 (BE/B.Tech).
  • Be in your 12th grade (or equivalent) appearing for the first time in 2023 or 2024 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Application Process:

  • Application window opens: April 21, 2024.
  • Application window closes: April 30, 2024.
  • Fee payment deadline: May 6, 2024.
  • Apply online at: https://jeeadv.ac.in/

Exam Pattern:

  • Two papers (Paper 1 & 2) of 3 hours each, conducted on the same day.
  • Each paper has 54 objective-type questions (Chemistry: 18, Physics: 18, Mathematics: 18).
  • Marking scheme: +3 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect answer, 0 for unattempted.

Syllabus:

  • Physics: 
  1. Mechanics: Laws of motion, work, energy, and power, rotational motion, gravitation, elasticity, and fluid mechanics
  2. Optics: Reflection and refraction of light, optical instruments, wave nature of light, and photoelectricity
  3. Modern Physics: Atomic physics, nuclear physics, dual nature of matter and radiation, electromagnetic waves, and X-rays
  4. Thermodynamics: Thermodynamic systems and processes, laws of thermodynamics, and applications of thermodynamics
  • Chemistry: 
  1. Physical Chemistry: Basic concepts in Chemistry, states of matter, chemical thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, ionic equilibrium, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, and surface chemistry
  2. Inorganic Chemistry: Classification of elements and periodicity, chemical bonding and molecular structure, s-block elements, p-block elements, d- and f-block elements, coordination chemistry, and metallurgy
  3. Organic Chemistry: General principles and reactions of organic compounds, hydrocarbons, alkyl halides, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, amines, and carbohydrates
  • Mathematics: 
  1. Algebra: Sets, relations and functions, complex numbers, quadratic equations, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, matrices, and determinants
  2. Calculus: Limits, continuity, differentiation, applications of derivatives, indefinite integrals, definite integrals, and applications of definite integrals
  3. Geometry: Two-dimensional geometry, three-dimensional geometry, and vector algebra
  4. Trigonometry: Trigonometric identities, equations, and graphs

JEE Advanced Admit Card:

Exam Centres:

  • Check your allotted exam centre on the official website.

Answer Key & Response Sheet:

  • Official answer key released after the exam.
  • Download your response sheet and compare it with the official key.

Result:

  • Results declared online in June 2024.

Cutoff:

  • Minimum qualifying score varies for different categories.
  • Check the cut-offs released by JAB.

Counselling:

  • Register for Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling.
